Introduction
Kids Kollective is a STEM learning program for kids in Vancouver, British Columbia. They approached us to help develop a professional website that parents would love while also appealing to kids.
Website
We developed a website for them using WordPress as our content management system, Elementor as the page builder, and Crocoblock as a suite of plugins for Elementor. We have a lifetime license to this suite so that our clients don’t need to get an Elementor Pro or Crocoblock license themselves (a combined savings of about $410.50/year).
The video above is of Kids Kollective’s new home. If you watch to the end you can also see the gorgeous (and over the top) full screen menu. We focus on creating easy to navigate websites. If a user can’t find their way around, then what’s the point in making the site to begin with?
We love to show some behind the scenes of the design the process. We’re even thinking that we should start creating some time lapses. In the meantime, check the video above. It showcases our favorite design tool Figma. It’s kind of like Google Docs, but for design. In the video, you can see several pages as they slowly got built out, scrapped, and iterated on.
Our personal favourite feature on the website is our usage of dynamic content. The video above may seem simple visually, but behind the scenes we’ve setup the page so that all of the services on the page are loaded dynamically. What this means is that the client can now go in, add a new service. From there, the service will appear on the about page automatically, and everywhere else where we used dynamic content. In fact, the majority of the sites that we make utilize this functionality. We’re all about productivity and reducing monotonous tasks.
